Well, the software used to jailbreak the ipod touch 2G is not public yet. And as you could see in the video, the jailbreak will only work until you shut down the ipod. So you have to do it each time it reboots. That's why, the dev-team is still working on it so it can be easily done with a simple software that everybody can use.

yes ok i understand but when i was searching myself on the topic when i stumbled upon a video explaining that apple might and probaly will release an sdk patch allowing users to put 3rd party applications onto their ipod

well that would be really cool, but i don't think apple is that stupid to do that.... I mean imagine that if you can put 3rd party applications onto your ipod, then you can easily put a malicious script also, right? With that script you will easily jailbreak your ipod and then put cracked applications on it. Who is going to buy the applications from apple after? NOBODY! so, i don't think that's going to happen.

i have a question (obviously)lol first off i would like to know if this will be avaible for window users as i saw ther was a mac being used second of all when might the total realease date of the crack be relased thank you for ur time

There will sure be a version of windows users (same as quickpwn). It first appeared on mac then on windows. There is no fixed date yet, it depends how smart the Dev-Team members are...and what apple programmers "have to say" about it. It might all fail at the end if apple patch the vulnerability used.

So I heard there's a new red sn0w coming out soon for the 2nd gen. Is that a jailbreak? I never jailbroke my device. It's a 2nd gen iPod Touch with the 3.1.1 software.
