Video footage and photo slideshow of a bus rally at Wisley Airfield, Surrey. This part contains the relaunch of the newly-restored RT1 - the first AEC RT bus produced
A belated happy birthday to you and thank you for your comment. I agree that it was a really good day and that there were some great buses there. I'm sure it was a great way to spend your birthday.
It happened to be my 50th birthday that day - and I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend it. There were some marvellous buses there, especially the restored RT1 (Ok I know it's got a post-war chassis, but the body is original).
Thank you very much for your kind comment. It wsa a great day and I respect all those who volunteer at these events as there would be no bus rallies without them all.
Thank you very much for your comment. I have loved old buses since childhood but have been attending rallies for less than two years. It was my first time at Cobham and I really enjoyed it. I hope that RT1 can stay in this country. We haven't many of our traditions left and should try to keep what we can of them.
Some very nice pics you got,. You must have a bit more patience than me, as I didn't take quite as many myself, but I too managed to get most with no-one walking into shot! At least it was sunny with no snow like last year, but the atmosphere didn't seem quite the same as past years, probably due to less vintage buses giving rides nowadays. RT1 did look very nice though. Hope the museum gets it.
