It's supposed to take away the pain. It didn't. The best is to keep it under cold water for 15 minutes.

  • what makes it sting is the air hitting it..I use to hold my burn imediately down in cold water and hold it there so the burn did not go any further and it relieved the pain. I was told in nursing school if you had the plain (not menthol) shaving cream you could cover the burn w/that to stop the sting as it was a light foam that would keep the burn from air. I hate getting burned. Hope it is better by now.

  • @kokonutbaby1 I'm sorry I coudlnt' talk to you the other day! call me on my cell phone, okay!

  • @NancyToday That's ok, hope your mom is doing well..I will catch you another time & try your cell..I was just wanting to cheer you up, cuz you seemed so down on the video I'd watched. I'm glad to see your cheerful smile again! You have a great day!

  • I hope it gets better soon. All I know is everytime I hear about burns... someone always mentions aloe vera.

  • I keep neosporin and a couple of bandaids in a small covered jar next to the stove...I get burned alot...lol

  • My husbands family, (who are mexican) always use an egg white. I don't have any clue as to why it works so well but it does. Takes the sting away and seems to keep the skin from blistering. Just put it on, let it dry, and leave it on for as long as needed. Works for me.

  • amishhorse is correct polysporin oint and telfa [non-stick gauze] keep it dressed/covered espc. when the blister burst open... cleanse it with sterile saline solution , apply polysporin oint and cover it with telfa twice a day x 5 to 7 days or until healed. Hope you're pain free.

  • Sorry the paste didn't work! Burns are SO PAINFUL....even tiny ones! But...I think the only proper method is to immerse the burn in cold water for a full 15 minutes...to stop the burning going any further into your tissues....just as "Kokonutbaby" says! Then...lots of polysporin, gauze and tape it up! That is really all you can do! That is what they advise at emergency! I KNOW because my son burn his leg with a SPARKLER when he was 2 years old! Now they have polysporin with PAIN RELIEF in it!
