Danelectro Daddy O

Danelectro Daddy-O, overdrive/distortion pedal. Not a bad sounding pedal. Sometimes sounds a bit too thin or trebly, but some tweaking of the comprehensive eq section should help with that.

Great review! A lot of people don't like this pedal and it's because they don't understand that this is really is geared towards producing a more classic rock-type sound.

But I have heard that these pedals don't hold up well over time. The pots *do* get scratchy and the whole unit seems prone to failure despite the casing which is built like a brick shithouse.

@altroval The pots and jacks are plastic (knobs are metal) and feel like they would fail easily. I havent used it much out of the house.

what do you prefer the daddy o or the ds 1?

@miguelpessanha Stock the Daddy-O is better. I have a modded DS-1 that I prefer to the Daddy-O, but stock it's the Daddy-O.

@miguelpessanha I tried two mods. I think one may be a partial Keely, but I'm not sure.

@cpome7 Just an SM57. I duck the voice mic when the guitar is playing. I don't like that open room sound a lot of demos have.
