"Message" was also known unofficially as "Spangler's Rock" Neville Martin had a similar followup single called "The Cliques", warning about those who were fighting against Manley - and those who had similarly opposed great Jamaicans of the past (Sam Sharpe, Nanny, Marcus Garvey, Paul Bogle).

aside from the somewhat dubious comparisons linking Manley to the JA national heros, it was a good tune.

Martin received death threats and left JA until after the '76 elections were over.

Wow this bring back memories, Michael Manley had the vision, but as usual, the majority of the people could not see it. Most of them were and still is, concern with the one day bellyful. I miss u Prime Minister Manley. There will be no more like you - ever.
