Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi says the LTTE is a brutal terrorist outfit 21/04/2009

He was addressing the media in Chennai yesterday. The Indian Asian News Service and the Asian Tribune websites have published this report. Karunanidhi has taken a direct U-turn after he reportedly said a day before that Prabhakaran was not a terrorist. He claimed that the LTTE (Tamil Tiger Terrorist) did not start off as a terrorist group. It began as a liberation group. But now it has become a terrorist outfit. Karunanidhi pointed out that the people had not forgotten the murder of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by the LTTE.

Meanwhile, Indian Congress Party Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi had said that Prabhakaran is a terrorist and the LTTE is a proscribed organization.
