Sounds great. Too bad technology has caught up and little ricers engines in moms Infinity puts out over 300 HP these days. You have to go big block, unless you want to get embarrassed by some kid in a $1,500 Honda with a fart cannon exhaust.

There are people these days putting turbos on small blocks with Fuel injection and people still supercharging getting huge power you get your car set up right the V8 still kick arse.
Power to weight also has to be considered it is a big deal when it comes to moving a car at speed as well as gearing.
-
@rockinar Not true you can still get plenty of power from smallblocks and kick arse.
-
Very interesting these, any hard numbers on torque?
-
Do you have bigger engines that you would recommend for a Chevy k10? like maybe a 454?
-
Most these import guys hav no idea what torque is and how Important it is to actual real world driving! Your 4 bangers can have all the HP in the world but you try flying up a steep hill with 4 people in your car wit no torque and see what happens. You'll see my crap 170 HP tbi Camaro with 250 pounds of torque fly past u with the same 4 passengers like u were standing still. If HP is a cars analogy for the human chest nd arms, then torque is the lower back nd legs, the actual powerhouse

@rockinar lol fart cannon but you rite. i saw 340hp car beat a car with 436 hp it all depend on the distance your going and gears people go str8 to the big motor but what about transmission\ rear end that supply that power the fact is mom could win if shes geared rite
-
@rockinar u obviously dont know anything about real small block power... Dont speak about what u dont know.
-
@ad356 don't get me wrong, i prefer american muscle but its not all about power. the power to weight ratio plays a major factor. the lighter and lower the car the less power needed to achieve the same speed.

@bjones416 at yearone.com.
if i put this motor in my camaro would i be able to get all the 400 hp to the ground????

Not likely... Drivetrain loss depends on your individual set up.
