If I chant for money or wordly possesions, I miss the point. If I chant to be more in tune with my higher self, I guess is more appropiate. By being more in tune with higher frequencies, I will adjust to the level that I have to be and my wants and needs will be balanced by the act of being in tune. I can say that since I chant the Gayatri mantra my relationships bettered so much. I am amazed and grateful!!!!! It was a miracle. I guess I am worthy of chanting this mantra.

I believe the sound of the vedas are more important than the meaning.
In the ancient vedic times everything worked on sound technology. They had weapons that were created or induced by chanting certain mantras.

But everyone cannot chant these mantras and produce the desired results. You have to be pure and higly evolved to use these mantras. If some stranger starts chanting these mantras, there will be no result but rather there could be detrimental results instead.

This mantra is a part of what is known as Ganapati sukta in Rigveda. However, the Yajurvedis chant it to for ganapati dhyanam. There is different swaras used in Rigvedic & Yajurvedic chants.

Sudhir911 - Thanks for your compliments. The knowledge conveyed in veda goes beyond the petty divisions of man, woman, animals, caste, race etc. When they classify, there is a purpose to that classification, and such classifications do exist in every society although they are named differently.
