Gotta love the 50's, bit strange though, such an uplifting tongue in cheek song for something so scary ! its like, imagine a song that went 'beware of hitler, he leaps, and creeps and slides across europe' with this music !

Ah, so cheesy, but at the same time, so catchy. I love the saxophone in it...

The group is actually the overdubbed voice of Bernie Nee!! ;-)

Actually, Burt's partner was Hal David. Mack Davis is Hal's brother.

it's too fast... why?

The song is credited to "The Five Blobs" who were a group of studio musicians put together by Bernie Nee specifically to record the title song of this movie. The flip side of the 45 RPM record this was on featured another Bacharach song called "Saturday Night in TiaJuana" which is the way Bacarach spelled Tijuana. Bernie didn't actually perform any of the vocals but he managed to take credit---the studio musicians getting screwed out of most of the profits---which was business as usual.

Mack David? Related to Hal?

IT SUCKS!

It's so hilarious. I have the Blob, and used to always think the music was so cute, but didn't go with the movie. Though I guess given the movie's campy nature, over time have come to think the light hearted music goes well. Burt Bacharach is great.

Yes, the Blob is not the kind of movie that should be taken seriously :)
