I wanna know first because i don't wanna get banned from the school computers! Someone might wanna try it first. :D

It won't work, at all. Prism is just a browser without frames.

lets say you just wanna go check something at a website you go in most often.. just one click gets you there rather than opening a browser and clicking to find your bookmark, Its great with cloud computing

I'm just not getting it. Why can't this be accomplished with gadgets (vista/7), or for the YouTube example, just dragging the shortcut to the desktop?

Mozilla Prism > October 2007
Fluidapp Fluid > December 2007
Google chrome > September 2008

The Fluid Dev says he's been inspired by Prism and Adobe Air.

just 2 words for you: WEB APPS.

Really; can't you see the usage with Google Apps, Flicker, Facebook, Zoho, Mindmeister, Corporate web applications, etc etc etc??? Not even close to Active Desktop, please...

This is a great achievement, pretty much copied by Google Chrome. I hope they get success with this; I already use it and it's fantastic.

Looks like somebody is STILL "web surfing" like its 1999...

Ever heard of Web2.0 apps?

Yes I have. Just because they "rebranded" an idea doesn't mean it's any better. For the most part "Web 2.0" is a joke.

It may not be new technology(as they 'sell it'; i agree with you on that), but the new way of using that old js tricks has been quite groundbreaking. I feel it is like when people started to use plain-old ice blocks, to make popsicles(which IS plain-old ice after all).

I believe that web2.0, Prism, etc. are great ideas; and it's even cooler that those great ideas can be created with 'old' technology.

PS: Hey, that was a good analogy.
