The Global Innovation index 2012 was released July 3 in Geneva by INSEAD business school and WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization (a specialized agency of the UN). The report measures the innovative abilities of 141 countries in the world. The 2012 top three remained the same as 2011: Switzerland, Sweden and Singapore, but other less-developed countries showed strong innovation tendencies. INSEQD Professor Soumitra Dutta, who created the index five years ago, and chief researcher Daniela Benavente explained the reports' findings and the methodology to dignitaries attending the launch event.
