Paul Robeson was a graduate of Rutgers University - The State University of New Jersey. During my several years there - undergrad and grad - I never heard his name. I started college in the early '60's, not so long after the anti-communist debacle in the US. His political leanings persisted and a state university depends on public funding. In any case, this man's voice should have earned him a prominent place among our alumni.

@lskarin Even at 17 I realize the importance of what You are saying. I'm slowly copying my collection of antique records into digital form.

I love the old record player, my mum + dad had one like that! Plus 78's etc. Ah happy memories of watching Paul Robeson films with mum + dad :-) Thankyou. xx

That's Fantastic! The atmosphere of the music, the room, the gramophone...all caught on a moving camera. Great stuff.
