  • I am looking at getting a 2001 F4i with 4,000 miles for 2,000 bucks. It needs new plastic on right side due to the previous owner laying it down going about 50. He got the motor looked over and got new sensors and it ran perfect. Then he ran it out of gas so I guess it needs another sensor because it sputters every once in a while. I was told its about a $300 fix at a local shop. Besides that its perfect. What do you guys

    think?

  • @mattiepie50

You can't really spend any less for a 600cc sportbike unless it's totally wrecked. Their prices bottom out around 2000 or so. However, you might consider looking for a bike with a cleaner history for about the same price. Something that hasn't had such a rough 4000 miles. But either way, these bikes can always be fixed up. Good luck!

  • This is becoming quite the source of info for those looking to insure their pride and joy. Thanks for all the replies folks. Be sure to check out my other videos. I have a 2001 F4i race bike too - much quicker than this 2005 (stock).

  • I want one so bad, I'm waiting to pay off my car till I buy one how much is the insurance for one of these ?

  • @PrototypeBigBlu

They really are great bikes, no doubt about it. Cost of insurance will vary wildly depending on your age, accident history, location and numerous other variables. Could be as little as $600/yr or as much as $600/mo. Good luck and ride safe.

I'm 19 with a perfect driving record...for my 06 f4i it costs about $750/year and its garaged most of the time in a suburban neighborhood with multiple people on my insurance policy...it kinda sucks how much they charge for bikes like this.

  • Look's to be mid FL state area because of the rolling hills & type of roads. BTW nice bike..yl

  • @CarlTrooper I pay for full coverage & 250 deductibles only around $1,49.00- a year, With Allstate but there's another car with the bike, and a good riving record helps.... I hate there Allstate "mayhem" adds. They drive me crazy.

  • I'm 19 and progressive gave me insurance for my 03 f4i at about 33 bucks a month. God I love my bike

  • nice bike, I have the same :-)

I think that dowshifting is too slow and without bleeping the throttle.

there are some good vids of how to downshift - I am currently trying my best to learn this technique. :-)

  • @ssgatlin4l18 thats a really good deal man it try and settle for $3700 though because its old...$4000 is a good deal if the owner won't budge because 3,000 miles on a 6 year old bike is mint.

  • @CarlTrooper good shit progressive will make me pay $300 for it...prolly cuz im 18 and still considered "reckless" by the state of connecticut. tee hee. still cheap as heck tho
