From your vid you are doing very well, just to reiterate what others have said bend your knees more and try turning the board by design rather than trying to force it. Most of the turning is down with the front foot. when on the piste lean forwards so the majority of the weight is over the front foot and most of all relax. As this vid is a few years old I'm sure you've cracked it by now. Keep on riding dooood! ;-)

Just found this video! Awesome job mate! Not been snowboarding yet but got a board and boots and heading to Chamonix on 18th November as my mate has a place there! Its good to see you can teach yourself as I reckon thats the way forward for me! The vid has given me a lot of confidence to try it!

I know that run, use to love it when i was starting out, bit of pain at the start up by the gondala were it is a cat track but once you get to the part where you are in the video its excellent for learning. I miss Chamonix.

wow, buddy! One hour, wow! If you want pointers the biggest thing i see right now is that you need to bend your keens and really concentrate on using y your back foot to stear and put a little more weight on your front foot stay center over your board but one hour WOW good job

You have a really nice body position on your snowboard for a beginner. You need to work on keeping your weight on your lead foot when the slope increases so the weight stays in the middle of your board. pause at 0:52 and you can see your weight is on your back foot - you can remedy this by bending your front knee more. Also when you are turning initiate the turns from the top if your body. Look where you want to go first, which will start to rotate the shoulders.

Hey you really good for only 1 hours worth of a lesson. I was very impressed. So now u have the boarding bug and just want to go as often as u can.

After only an hour you should be proud. Just remember next time to keep your head up a bit, (as where you look will dictate your direction)bend your knees a bit more, and when turning, point your head/hand/lead shoulder where you want to go. Snowboarding is easier than surfing, but many skills crossover, so just imaging you're surfing the mountain.

Nice one Jayse!
Thanks lovecamper still learning to bend my knees rather than being lazy I know I still shuffle turn rather than heel and toe but I had some serious bangs while catching some edges maybee i was being over cautious. this year i want to crack the turns properly and maybee heel overs. and cheers mate thanks for the feedback.
