  • I will slay the next person who compares this to Minecraft. They're just cubes. They've been around since the 1950's.

  • omg love the graphics!!!

  • @Freak2121GTAF Okay, thanks — I do understand now :)

  • @bjcsupertortoise I am not a programmer either, I only know one who is familiar with voxels. I don't know how to explain it, but a voxel is a point in a 3 dimensional grid. It can be rendered as anything you are capable of supporting/creating. The one color cube that you're thinking of is a voxel being rendered as a voxel. Minecraft's world (not entities) are voxels rendered as polygon model. I hope you understand now. Also, most game objects are made of polygons not voxels.

  • @Freak2121GTAF I thought that simply a cube in a three-dimensional grid of cubes was not classed as a voxel. Isn't a voxel specifically a solid cube of one colour which is the simplest body in a 3D graphics system, which all objects are made from? Or, like you say, does it not just have to be a 'pixel with volume' — can it actually just be any sort of information which is associated with a cubic space (in a grid of course) in the graphics? (As you can probably tell, I am not a programmer)

  • @bjcsupertortoise Minecraft is rendered using polygons, yes. But the blocks/chunks are stored as voxels, it would be impractical if they weren't. When you're interacting with a block, you see a polygon block but you're actually interacting with a voxel. ;)

  • @Freak2121GTAF Actually, Minecraft doesn't use a voxel system technically :]

  • Awesome awesome awesome I neeeeeeeeeeeed this game

  • Voxels FTW ! <3

  • Great music and game! Liked! Subbed! Favorited!

  • so cooo :O
