I live in Portland, OR and I have an unshakable fascination with northernly places. I went to Edmonton this past January, which was nice, but it wasn't nearly as cold as I was hoping. The coldest it got was minus 6F. Wish I could afford a ticket to Yellowknife.

@awwwyeaboyeeee Yes, Yellowknife gets cold. Most northerly areas of Alaska get very cold, as well.....40, 50 and 60 below 0, not counting wind chill, which makes it feel much, much colder. It's fun the way the inside of your nose freezes after one or two breaths in the super cold temps! :-) It's a feeling unlike any other, to be sure! Good luck with getting to a cold place! You'll enjoy it! :-)

Trust me - it WAS 40 below 0 and the wind chill WAS 65 below 0. By the time I got back inside, after just that few minutes outside, I was numb. I really should have worn a coat but we were really just playing with our camera, at this point. Thanks, anyway, for the post!
