I agree with you saying the western media use sharia law as a tool of fear, but I too have to admit I think it is potentially dangerous for sharia law to be applied in, for instance, Egypt, not because I believe islam should die or anything like that, but I fear that Islam and sharia law can be used (like catholicism in the past) to excuse acts of violence, oppression of women,... (again, we've seen this before with catholicism). I strongly believe religion and politics don't fare well together
