This sounds like little stars are falling on your head and in your eyelashes. It is like a dream...so pretty and clear.

This is so cute! I love this song!

I've seen this song many times by Billy Murray on cylinder records!

Yes, a real oddity. No introduction, and just Murray and piano, and the piano player seems to be 2nd rate. Almost seems like they may have resurected a take that was never used and put it on a 10" Monarch which probably did not sell many copies. Very strange.

Wonderful Recording, what record was this from? was it a Victor, Monarch or Edison ?

Thanks for posting your comment, Victrolaman! This tune from 1904 was recorded in 1905 on Edison black wax cylinder numbers: 8874 by Billy Murray and 8931 as a xylophone solo. I have both cylinders but have always preferred Murray's version. I don't believe this was ever released on Victor Monarch as that label was deleted in late 1904 just prior to this tune becoming popular and I don't believe I've ever found it on the 1905 era Victor Grand Prize label. Thanks again for stopping in!

Ok, I have the Murray record on the Monarch Label accompanied by just a Piano, and he sings both verses as well. I will post it in the next couple of days.

According to my Victor record research books and our discussion offline this title on the Monarch label was not available. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing it.
