@Cook1993 i disagree 200%. Colgan has a lower accident rate than the trunk carriers.
-
dyockey droppin some knowledge
-
@Sharod101 That is horribly incorrect. Colgan is its own separate airline operating under their own certificate. They fly their planes, owned by Pinnacle, FOR Continental, under the Continental Connection name, thus receiving a portion of the revenue from the tickets sold through Continental, or United/US Airways. Google it.

my wife works for United Express operated BY Colgan Air. She used to do the IAD - CRW route... i even went with her to "Charlie West"

"What about Continental? That was the paint job on the plane that you were flying mostly? [interviewer]
Down in Houston, yes. [Chris Wiken, former Colgan Captain]
US Airways up in the Northeast. [interviewer]
US Airways. [Chris Wiken]"

@wvhb44beardog i'm sorry i take back what i said before, Colgan owns and operates for US Airways in the North East, and for Continental down south.
The official Routes, Paintjobs and credit actually belongs to US Airways, or Continental which are huge airlines, but, Colgan operates their regional level flights because the big companies don't wanna burden themselves with it. so the training, scheduling and wages are done all under colgan, and Colgan is who employs them, but US Airways owns title
-
@Cook1993 noooo.
down south, Colgan does flights for Continental, i mean in the Texas area, up north, especially north east, Colgan does flights for US Airways.
Colgan is just a company that does their work, the paint job is US Airways, the pilots technically belong to US Airways etc etc, but Colgan does all their training, scheduling and wages.

@Sharod101 Mesa Airlines is a regional carrier, just like colgan, that operates for various airlines in various places. They comply with US Airways terms of business ( or whoever theyre flying for).
-
@Sharod101 Colgan is an Airline. They have their own planes. And the rest is explained in my other reply to your post.
-
@Sharod101 No, Colgan IS an airline. They're a regional airline. Just like expressjet, mesaba, pinnacle, PSA, mesa, commutair, etc etc etc... It's a Colgan Air owned aircraft. Major airlines pay the regional airlines, under a contractual basis, to operate many routes for them. In this particular case. Colgan Air is providing service between DCA and CRW, DBA US Airways Express.
That's your own fault. Quit fucking bitching.
