Marlin fishing on a 14 foot skiff out of Newport Harbor, Southern California. We were 8 to 15 mile off our Coast. We caught 4 Marlin in 4 Consecutive Days out Fishing. All were Caught on Live Mackerel 8/0 J Hook-8 Foot Rod-30# Test Main Line-80# Test Leader. Feeders... Total Dollars Spent on Catching 4 Marlin=Less than $100.

If you know what you are doing it's not that big of a deal. People take inflatables out farther than that. It's all about experience. :)
