Hey to everyone who watches my stuff...I know it's been a really long time so I hope you won't be too hard on this video. I was really sick a few days ago but kept dragging myself to lab and surprising I was actually quite productive and made some progress! But today I decided to stay home before I got even worse...good health is important. Also, as you can probably tell, I cut my hair off hahaha.

Anyways, this is a demo of my latest acquisition (combined bday/Christmas present), the signature guitar of Nergal from Behemoth. I saw them in concert in January and they were magnificent. I've been toying with the idea of getting a seven-string for a while and I finally bit the bullet - ESP/LTD have never disappointed me before, and they didn't start now. The guitar is pretty beastly, with a serious low end rumble (I actually had to pretty much set the bass controls on my amp to near zero for this video). So far the hardest part of seven string is learning "open" chords - but scales and arpeggios translate quite well. I tried to show off some licks that used all seven strings, to give you an idea, mainly warm up exercises I use. You'll have to forgive my terrible execution though, I haven't really been able to practice a whole lot since the New Year began - been really busy with school and also moving into a new apartment...hahaha. But now that I've gotten a taste of playing guitar again I'll probably be devoting a bit more time to it - I'm excited to compose on the 7-string but also want to learn some covers - Into Battle by Ensiferum on the metal side and Corcovado (a bossa nova standard) on the acoustic side.

Anyways, thanks for watching and like I said, don't be too harsh, please =) I look forward to putting up more videos this year, and continuing to improve tiny steps at a time. Take care!!

P.S. Thanks to my sister for the awesome t-shirt.

  • sry, i meant what modes were you playing in up until 1:51 ?

  • @bowmanpwner I think it was mostly B natural minor? haha. Since there wasn't a chord backdrop it was easy to veer out of a particular mode. I guess I naturally gravitate towards minor keys (metal and all that =P) but lately I've been trying to diversify a bit. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Guitar playing level : Asian

  • @girininhonck haha, cheers. =)

  • @deadnightshinobi Hey man don't be offended sometimes people get offended BTW i was just joking

  • @girininhonck Hahah, I appreciate the joke. I don't think most people who post that meme mean to be offensive, it's not like you said "go back to Asia" or something...=P

  • This is actually the only good review I have seen of this guitar. And definitely the only one that makes the guitar look nice.

  • Sick arpeggios dude! Would you recommend this guitar to some one who would like to buy a 7-string?

  • what mode are you playing in?? in other words, what are your favorite modes/ scales?? btw, you're a beast

  • @BOBSAGGETASS Well I think they have a few songs where the tuning is a bit different (e.g. the title track from Zos Kia Cultus). Maybe he's just looking forward to the future and more experimentation. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Sweet!! I just dont know why nergal would play a 7 when they tune in D standard, maybe he just likes more bass tone or body. Cool guitar and playing!
