The release of CO2 into the atmosphere is one of the biggest problems facing the environment. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) from Alstom is a safe and permanent method of neutralising the risk of CO2 emissions. This video explains the rationale behind the worlds first carbon capture plant. CCS plants, in operation across Europe and the US since 2008, are a huge achievement in this field, demonstrating Alstoms commitment to clean power solutions.

  • best solution i have heard of.

    Seems like the saline water would have to have plenty of calcium or related elemental ions.

  • How much energy is required to catch 1 ton of CO2.

    Then how much energy is required to store it in an underground reservoir.

    I hope some calculations for this is done for the facility under construction at Mongstad in Norway.
