maslanka's 4th,2nd, and 8th gets all the love... but i've always been partial to his 5th, especially this movement.

I would agree. In general the group plays a little on the back beat and isn't as agressive with as they could be. This is an awesome piece.

I love this performance. What is the story behind this band? Is it a community group? I'm guessing it's from Portugal but thats all I know.

maslanka is a god, i am currently playing his symphony no.8 in college. We're the 4the band to have it! My only comment on this would be that sometimes, the percussion seemed off. Specifically, from 2:30 - 3:00. It just seemed sort of sloppy, however, possibly it was just the recording. However, nice band!
