State Greens MLC Ian Cohen speaks at the United We Stand rally on Avoca Beach 12 Dec 2010. From the beach to the bush, community groups on the Central Coast fighting to protect their environment, sacred sites, beaches and homes attended. Groups opposed to the Calga Sand Mine, Wallarah 2 Coal Mine, Offshore Natural Gas Drilling and the scuttling of the HMAS Adelaide. Also in attendance were those working to save the Sacred Kariong Bushland and protesting against the impacts sea level rise legislation is having on their homes. The rally was organised by the Surfrider Foundation Central Coast.
