Big Brown was on steriods most of his career. He wasnt on it in the Belmont. Thats why the jockey eased him up, Big Brown was to tired. The jockey didnt know the shoe was coming off. So, the lost shoe is not an excuse. Big Brown would have only been a sprinter f it wasnt for the drugs.

Zenyatta did well in 2008, but Curlin deserved HOTY, no competition.

Except we have just about 90 years left to go. People thought it would be impossible to match Colins accomplishments in the early 1900s, but then only a decade later came Man O' War :)
