  • This was wonderful to watch and hear. My father idolized Benny Goodman, played clarinet like him, and his favorite song was Body and Soul. He died in a crash at age 40 and I would long for him to hear this - he would be 90! However, it was because I was searching for Eddie Duran whom I saw playing at a party yesterday in Napa and was awestruck to find this gem. Thanks so much for the rendering. Eddie was so humble. So many musicians at the party but none with the experience he has had.

  • Hi marilynhar, I upload a video clip of Eddie Duran at this stage. "Prelude to a kiss"

    Thank you for your comment. SwingCla from Tokyo.

  • Amazing to think that when Benny and Teddy played this concert, I was 17 and in US Navy boot camp. My Mom, who was a huge Benny Goodman fan, would have loved this concert as would I. God bless Benny and Teddy.

  • I play the clarinet too! I wish I could be like Acker Bilk & Benny Goodman. :-(

  • I'm a huge fan of Teddy Wilson, so that's no wonder Benny loved him! (;

  • Una verdadera joya, clase, elegancia y hermosa interpretación.

  • Aah yes, this is like a fine cigar.

  • fabulous recording, only regret is that this was made during the '80s when it seemed as if so many recordings made then resulted in upright basses sounding like rubber bands - not sure why, something to do with the crummy transducers that were available at the time, and unwillingness of engineers to mic basses properly.

  • TEDDY WILSON ! !

  • Ah, this is so smooth.. it's lovely. True Jazz..

  • @urbancl lol i was born in the same year

  • My grandfather was Arnold Fishkind and played with him and Chubby Jackson
