@sabvilla Yea that is true..."more charming", maybe because it was a different era? This movie came out in 1939, which BTW, is often cited as "Hollywood's Greatest Year". You have Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, etc & more. I'd hate to be an Oscar judge in a year like that/with so mnay great movies.

I dunno what could possibly be wrong with me but I really find these kinds of old, classic romantic comedies a whole lot more charming than the contemporary ones.

I do not get the appeal of Melvyn Douglas. If I ran Hollywood in those days all leading men would be as handsome as Robert Taylor & Clark Gable.
