As the title says, this is the very last interview of Maria Callas, which she recorded for a French radio program in April 1977.
In this interview, journalist Philippe Caloni asks her about music and about her opinion on events that happened back then like the French WLM protests, or the war against luxury.
Now before making any judgements on what Maria Callas says here, remember she was born in 1923 in a lower class family, and that she received a strict education; which means her opinion might be likely to differ from what most people think nowadays.
As the interview was recorded in French, I had to translate it all by myself -sorry for ruining the English grammar !!- and to find a way to put it in a video so most people who don't know French would understand it. That is why I couldn't translate each and every word she was saying, I had to do a basic yet faithfull translation. So I'd like to tell you all that if anything seems unclear, if you're not sure about what I meant in my translation : please feel free to ask me !
Translating the whole interview was a lot of work, I know the videos are not as good as I would have liked them to be, but I hope you will enjoy them still.
I like the Skype sound at 5:47 :-)
