That's Bob Warren in the "alternate sponsor" blackout (he was later known as Lawrence Welk's announcer).

You think anyone of these young people of today, would get the joke ?

@Auggie56 They may or may not. I leave the intrepretation up to the viewer. I hope they have the ability to put it into the context of era (the late 1950's early 1960's). To true Kovacs fans (we are a dying breed!), no explanation is necessary.

@Auggie56 As a follow up, I know exactly where you are coming from! A few years ago I suggested to a Customer Service Trainer to view my Abbott & Costello video of "Who's on First". I suggested it to try to illustrate the idea that when you talk to someone you cannot automatically assume that they know what you are talking about. That sketch, I thought, illustrated it perfectly. Well... there we some kids in the training class who were clueless with the word play!

Well, as I am a "young person of today", yes, I get the joke. Of course, I'm most likely the only person under 20 who knows who Ernie Kovacs was. (a genus years ahead of his time, of course)
