  • @MrLC1965 Roger wins 5 in a row, Borg couldn't manage one, and he's "without doubt" the greatest?

  • @MsLottje Lol I was talking about the US Open. 5 titles in 2004-2008.

  • The most amazing thing Borg did was to win so many Wimbledons, given that his game was basically a clay court game. In one year he took his serve from nowhere to excellent.

  • Can't compare then and now based on pace. Rackets are different.

    Great players, great match.

Borg didn't like playing at night. I think he felt it took a fraction of a second off his reaction time.

No one ever hit passing shots like him, then or now.

  • Love these guys and miss the serve/volley game !

  • @MrLC1965 i was a great fan of borg, but roger is far much better

  • @philipsayshello2 I agree the 80s showed much better skill with less technology in fact very little look at the speed of the courts today and the raquets today they are more athletes than anything obviously one must be athletic in the first place its more power than skill today I think

  • or was it 4 and 2 at the french ??. rod laver dint play majors for 6yrs cos he turned pro, same with rosewall, also emerson won most of majors when laver was a pro so not around to destroy him, laver and connors career not concurrent, whats the age diff about 15yrs ??.

  • borg never won 6 french opens in a row, he won 3 and 3 after a couple yrs gap, he only played australian open once so thats his fault, and reached 4 us open finals but didnt win, too bad, won 5 wimbledons in a row then in another final, all time great yes. best ever no.

  • @1steadman1 I myself was a huge fan of Borg´s, and for some years he was the best ever, then Sampras changed that, and later Roger did... who´ll be the new "best ever"?... probably Nadal, but we´re just talking about records and championships, if we start talking about how big and different each of those player´s contribution to the sport has been, then we´ll get in trouble, and if we were talking to older people, I´m sure they´d choose Laver as the best ever.

  • @vierdiez Actually, I don't agree with anytihng MrLC said. No one knows what would have happened after 3/3 15/15, that's so hypothetical. There's a case to be made for Borg, Sampras and Federer (possibly Nadal in the future) for "best ever". Claiming Borg is the best without a doubt while he trails Federer in most slams and failed to win the US Open is a bit of a stretch for me. He's just a huge fan.

  • I have been a tennis fan all my life and this is the first time I've watched any footage of Borg. That is just seriously super tennis. They have to bring back these racquets,I mean this is real tennis worth watching !
