At the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year, I found that my students in Algebra 2 COMPLETELY forgot how to graph linear equations, so I'm going to make them learn this song.

This is meant as a review of certain concepts. This is certainly not a comprehensive lesson on linear equations, but is a review of slope-intercept form. Students are assumed to already know what these terms are, so this is just to remind them of what to do.

Yeah, when you become a teacher you lose all street cred.

An original creation, Timothy Leung August, 2009

  • That was great! I'm trying to teach my 6th graders how to graph linear equations. Graphing was always my least favorite part of math and now it's one of my least favorite things to teach.

  • @Muggle423 As long as you teach the reasoning behind each step, that's great. This song only gives kids a shortcut, a desperation move by me to try to teach my Algebra 2 kids graphing which they didn't understand at all.

  • Obviously u did not get my students from Algebra I...Why are u no longer teaching? You should be...even if u are out of tune.... lol

  • @saxxypurr Long story... but I'm still teaching, just no longer in public school. I'm now training programmers at a software company. And I can use jokes there that I can't use in high school. :)

  • Man... I am so mad that my schedule got switched... I was looking so forward to having You for Algebra 2!!! Well hopefully you keep your word and come and help coach the wrestling Team!!!!!!!

  • If it were up to me, I'd be with you guys. But it's really up to the athletic director.

  • Aww...you gave a shoutout to my old school! MAriner pride...Man, I remember all the teachers there. My math teacher used this to teach us how to graph lines and said we could sing it in our test quietly to ourselves. Needless to say, it turned out to be one big choirof off tune student :)

  • Awesome. Thanks!

  • Haha that's awesome

  • @ProPipe14 Hopefully you learned something! Glad I could make you laugh though

  • i think you can make it to american idol ;)
