Step 1: Google up Minecraft.net
Step 2: Make sure you register on Minecraft.net it can be a new account and activate your account through email
Step 3: Go back to google and google up Mineshafter its the first link
Step 4: on the top right click "Login".
Step 5: It doesn't have to be the email you used to create your account just make a gmail if you don't already have one and use that to log in
Step 6: You'll get redirected back to Mineshafter click your name on the top right and click settings.
Step 7: Click "Change", type in your Minecraft Username and Password if its wrong or the servers are offline it'll say "INVALID CREDENTIALS".
Step 8: If you want to a skin go to google search up Skindex and click the first link choose a skin you want, upload it to imgur.com and copy and paste the direct link where it says "SKIN URL".
Step 9: Go up on the Mineshafter site and click "DOWNLOADS".
Step 10: Download the first one Mineshafter-Proxy.jar if you download it and theres a winrar logo in the middle of the file, make sure once its downloaded that instead of just double clicking it, RIGHT CLICK it and click "Open with JAVA". Make sure you have the latest version of JAVA!
Step 11: Wait for it to open up and sign in with the account you just linked to Mineshafter.

What do you mean? To get you skin to show up you gotta make sure you go to imgur.com upload the skin there and copy the direct link then paste that on Mineshafter where it says Skin url.

You gotta make sure you use the Mineshafter Client Proxy which is the first download in the downloads page on Mineshafter. Download it then double click it wait for it to open and it will ask you for the user and pass of the account you just linked.
