Good to find this site. We train in Wisconsin Shorei Kempo. We work a series of NEko uto Katas but some of ours were developed by MR. Phillip Koeppel
THere are two others that I have never found history on. They are NEko Buto 12 which on this post is called Neko Buto Geri. I always thought that maybe it was a Mitose kata. We also do a kata called Karumpha. Which is a short basic kata. (Not The Karuppha that I saw in Okinawa as that one is a very advanced. THis kata very
this kata goes by different names of nekobuto with different numbers and such depending on who you learn it from. All katas are varied from dojo to dojo. I learned this originally as nekobuto nidan or nekobuto 2. This kata is practiced by all of the kai systems which covers all styles including the name "ryu". I practice kosho ryu kai kempo and have been for almost 10 years.
The name of this kata is Neko Buto Geri and it's belongs to Kosho Shorei Ryu Kenpo program or Kosho Ryu Mitose how it´s named now. But the performance of this kyu is very lazy, he needs more kime
I recognize this kata, it is Neko Buto Juni (12). It was developed my Master Robert Trias and is taught in Shorei-Goju-Ryu dojos and some Shorei Ryu dojos. At the time Neko Buto Juni was developed, Master James Mitose (Developer of Neko Buto katas 1-5) was still active, so Master Trias numbered his Neko Buto "12" to make sure Master Mitose could use the lower numbers for any additional Neko Buto katas he might have developed.
It's Geri waza 12

Looks very similar to Neko Buto Nidan or Neko Buto Gerri a Kata taught in Kosho Ryu Kempo. Created by the late Great Grandmaster James M. Mitose.
