Here's another take of Jake Shimabukuro's version of Bohemian Rhapsody on my newly arrived Mya-Moe concert (Tradition model) made with curly myrtle. This is more or less made as a demonstration of the Mya-Moe uke so I just tried a couple of takes. I can never take a mistake-free video so I think it's not too bad from a couple of quick takes.

The Mya-Moe ukulele is very nice and I love how you can track the build on their website as it is being built. Mya-Moe even finished the ukulele ahead of schedule. I definitely recommend them if you're interested in their ukes.

  • Do you have tabs to the exact version you play? I would really like to learn it but its hard looking just at your fingers :P

  • @Pumpkin5516

I don't have tabs of this song, as I learned from watching various Youtube videos. However, there is a tab book for Peace Love Ukulele that's scheduled to be released early February that should have tabs of this song. Should be easy to find a pre-order on google.

  • Nice job George. The uke sounds really nice.

  • @UkesterBrown

    Thanks David!

  • Great job, George! Thanks for your demonstration. Mya-Moe has been my wish list for long time :)

  • @TerryUkes

Thanks Terry! The whole Mya-Moe process was very pleasant. They managed to be ahead of schedule on my build, which is pretty rare in my experience, and did a great job with communications. The uke is not too shabby either. :)

  • Great job on that tune. I'm in the process of having a mya moe built. It's going to be a myrtle tenor. I can't wait. Thanks again for the great video.

  • Like the way the frets pick up the light.

  • I seem to remember reading somewhere that myrtle as a tonewood takes a while to open up. It might be a case of not worrying about a little constrained strumming until this time next year.

I left the stock Worths on the ukulele. I'm assuming that they are CMs, and might try some CDs sometime, as I find CDs to be my favorite Worth strings for concert ukes.
