UK immigration debate, Vince Cable changes mind (14Apr11)

An immigration debate preamble to UKIP leader Nigel Farage on the issue. Liberal Democrat Vince Cable is forced to eat his words from earlier in the day, and say that the immigration debate is all coalition policy.

Cable is the extremist. It's only a shame that those applauding Cameron have no idea how easily they are consistently lied to. How anyone can still have any faith in any of the major parties is totally beyond me. When I se otherwise well balanced and sane people supporting these puppets I become totally bemused at their stupidity.

@Angryification Its not about 'giving' jobs to ethnic minorities only if so called 'lazy' people cant be bothered to do the job. It should be about giving jobs to the suitable candidate on a fair and equal basis. As in the best person gets the job REGARDLESS of their ethnicity.

They really need to stop immigration. All of it, there are so many people out of work with more people coming in. Where are they going to get these invisible jobs from?

This is one of the smallest countries in the planet, and we are running out of room. Nothing to do with racism but down the line we are going to run out of room, food and jobs

Immigration should stop altogether, while there are 2.48 million unemployed (more than half on Jobseeker’s Allowance).

Anyway, my Grandma was actually quite the tough lady, to the point to say its a fair bet she could have beat up you, your Grandad and your Grandma. All at the same time. @dikkydoo1 Hmmm...your Grandad sounds like quite the philpsiphor. Basically reducing discussions concerning immigration or multiculturism to derogatory remarks your Grandad made really does trivialise and make a mockery of adult discussion. @dikkydoo1 okay so your grandad's preference sexually was for people of African descent, I dont see what relevance that has with this issue? Oh...unless your saying that your Grandma was Black as a result of your old Grandad's personal choice and as a result you come from a mixed race background,as a result of immigration,and you represent a happy family contributing to the general good nature of the land?
