The kids are curious about foreigners. Generally, once Koreans get to like you, they are a very warm and friendly people. One student is goaded to test his English skills. They are excited to share their love/pride of Korean culture and their English teacher and curious as to why foreigners are in Korea. You can see they are very proud of their culture (the questions are Korean-driven and some of the clothes are kpop). Idolizing Americans? Sorry, but not here. Just excited as most kids are.
The Korean culture idolizes american culture. They are being just curious in this video, but when you are in the culture and you get to know some of the people, you realize that they hold Americans in very very high regard. They think that America is so cool, and they put us on a pedistal that we don't deserve. In fact, in their constitution, if Korea were to declare war on another country, the American president becomes the commander in chief of the Korean Military.
