I know it's a bit of an aside, but i've never been a fan of the term 'passed away'. I had a friend who was murdered trying to break up a fight, and i felt disingenuous saying 'he passed away' when i was thinking 'he got fucking stabbed!'...

For me, saying 'passed away' makes it easier for me to cope with. In all honesty... i don't deal with death super well.

Personally, i like to remind myself of horrible things. When i eat meat, i'll often say aloud, "ahh, the flesh of the lesser beasts" just to remind myself that i'm eating something with eyes and a brain. I guess it's not about 'dealing with it' so much as it's about 'facing it,'looking nasty things in the face and declaring, "I know thee well, and thou shalt not claim my thoughts nor words!" But i'm theatrical

I'm getting that feeling. lol
Well, next time I eat meat I think I'll try saying aloud "ahh, the flesh of lesser beasts"
I'm actually curious what kind of reaction I'd get. lol
