Water purification can involve a variety of processes including passing the water through point of use (POU) filters which remove suspended solids. At the water sensing facility, water passes through filters having pores of 20 microns, 1 microns, 0.65 microns, 0.2 microns, and 0.04 microns. Smaller pore sizes lead to improved water quality. Reverse osmosis can also remove salts and dissolved solids. http://wsp.arizona.edu/
