@teched246 Dude, that was Qin dynasty China. The Katana appeared as a result of Japanese-adopted Tang Dynasty sword smithing (the difference between the dynasties of Qin and Tang being well over 700 years). So, practically, it was impossible to make a katana in that time frame, simply because the technology did not exist. Nor did Japan exist as a well-defined civilization, for that matter.

if you watched the movie hero, there was one fight scene when zhang ziyi attacked jet li with her double dao , jet li used his jian to defend himself and managed to seize one of her dao during the fight, stopping her from further attacking him. perhaps the dao he is holding in this picture is the dao i mentioned earlier on.
