Big problem with the GoPro Hero is the battery only last 20 minutes and when you have it on your head you can never tell if it's running or not. You have to keep taking your helmet off and on to check.
Try using the Surf Camera. You will get way better results plus it's way more convenient having a far better quality camera like the Fuji xp10 right on your chest with the Surf Camera case, not to mention you can take it anywhere with you.

I have had good results with the GoPro Battery life. For this video I was out for a couple hours and the battery still indicated 3/4 full. I also purchased a spare battery for a backup. Wearing it on the head does make it difficult to tell when it was filming or not but I think any camera worn on the head would have the same issues. Overall I really like the simplicity of the camera and the available options. I bought extra mounts which adds lot of versatility for use in other applications.
