Heard Chet in England in the very late '50's, met him in London in sadder circumstances in the early '60's and heard him again at the Antibes Jazz festival in around '82/83? Still just as good then.

This is really nice post. Thank you. Reminds me of my dad - who always played downstairs in the living room when I was a kid growing up - just like Chet.

He was great and we're all lesser for his passing.... RIP chet.
