  • Newsflash: Perhaps if the Big 3 designed a better vehicle than their Asian counterparts, there would be no need for a f@#$# bailout!

  • Where does the US Constitution allow for governmental intervention and bailouts? The Declaration of Independence tells us it is our duties to throw off the chains of despotic and tyrannical governments!

  • They don't build junk cars. You just think so because awhile back they did. But times have changed, except your way of thinking. The Big 3 still control close to 50% of the domestic market, so they must be building cars somebody wants. You have to agree. Why so many of you begrudge the autoworker is amazing. I guess the wages of the steelworkers, rubber workers, electrical workers, etc;, don't have anything to do with the cost of a car. And the average pay isn't close to what an assembler earns.

  • Neal Cavuto is nothing more than a Right Winger. Bush has done no harm, Chenney is a Patriot, and Condoleeza is a Goddess. Yeah, right! Better wake up people, your govt is not working for you. Every issue that has no bearing in the operation of this govt is the one the right wingers most campaign for or against to incite the moral outrage of stupid people who can't even see they're being played. It's laughable, but it's more a shame.

  • Newsflash: Perhaps you need to read more up to date data. The quality gap is nearly non-existent, only a consumer perception that the Jap cars are better. 3 of the top 10 award winners for 2008 were GM vehicles, and Toyota wasn't even mentioned. Plus, one of GM's cars was just named car of the year in Europe. Get you facts straight before shooting from the hip. Buy American, especially in Texas where Americas team plays.

  • We were warned long ago what would happen if the the treasury ever became a public trough. Now it's just a manner of time.

  • According the the Center for Automotive Research, up until very recently, GM was forking out $150k for each employee to cover pay and benefits. Unskilled labor pay starts at $55k and goes up into to the $70k's. With labor costs like these, it was only a matter of time.

  • Right. That's nothing short of robbery. It's

our hard-earned money. This government has

gone insane. They are destoying any chance

for our kids to have a good life. Oh hell,

do like me, load up before it's too late.

  • Thanks man. My thoughts exactly. Our

nation in near crisis in many areas.

    It's a shame the people can't force

the criminals in Washington out. Now

we've got Putin, Iran, and others who

would attack us like sharks if we had

    an internal conflict.

  • we are so fucked over right now its almost laughable. i think its time for revolution. i was watching some news this morning and the headline was: are shoppers introuble? it was about malls starting to shut down their businesses because they owe so much money. i had to laugh because they referred to people, human fucking beings, as "shoppers". what have we become? mindless consumer slaves who need to wake up so we can stop being manipulated like rag dolls.

  • If U.S. automakers didn't pay their workers an average of $29.25 per hour (plus huge pensions and benefits) to make gas-guzzling junk cars, then they wouldn't need our tax money. Most Americans don't make anywhere near $29.25 per hour--so why should we hand over our hard-earned money to auto workers?
