i am looking into getting birth control being that im 20 and have a 3yr old and a 7month old and like that this one stays in for 3yrs what are the side effects? and how effective is it? do u need additional protection?

Note that the implant is extremely effective in terms of protecting against pregnancy but does NOT protect against STIs.

i have had the implanon for 2 and a half years i love it and i havent had my period the who time i have had it i spotted in the begining but that didint last long i recomend it

doesnt hurt getting it put in. BUT i dont recommand it. i hate this borth control i had not stop period for 3 months. now i dont bleed for one week out of each month. mood swings are bad. deperssion. and i dont know but anyone else but i feel pregnant on this thing. {am not pregnant however} bloated. headaches i have lost weight. but i am getting mine out soon

I've had mine in my arm sense mid 09 and i think its great. I dont have erugular bleeding. I dont have my period at all.. Just once in a while ill have spotting. The only con i have about this is, is that i went to my doctor for a check up and I've told her i wanted to lose weight and it just seemed like it was impossible for me to lose it. She ran tests on me to see if it was thiroid or maybe genetic and its neither. She said it could be the birth control method im using.

im 20 a mother of 2 i have had my implanon for 4 days, it didnt hurt going, but it DID hurt like hell a few hours later, to the point i couldnt even lift my arm or let even the wind breeze against it, but today it hurts less, theres still certain ways i move my arm i get a sharp pain from my finger tips to my shoulder blade. Other than that no complains so fat
