On June 17th 2006 Pete and Roger unveil the Blue Plaque commemorating the LAL recording by The Who in 1970. I was able to board the Magic Bus to Leeds for the ceremony, and the later the concert (LAL2) which was AMAZING!!!

  • I'm not sure about the last comment, but this is how it translates:

The Refectory of the University is a legendary place of concert. The representation of Who here, on February 14, 1970, was recorded and published under the name of Live At Leeds, live the album more celebrated its generation"

I'd love to know more about the person that left it, so leave a little blurb about yourself.

  • fancy meeting you here, jmp

  • Hah! I just followed a link to this that was posted on O&S. I wasn't standing too far from you as this was being filmed.... I think I can hear myself yell YEAH! in my booming American accent right after Petes speech. Small world.

  • Damn I love The Who. Got to see them play in the '70's at Madison Square Garden, (got the tickets by pure luck, but that's a long story). Entwhistle and Moon were still around then, wish they were still here. Long live The Who!

  • En Français: « Le Réfectoire de l'Université est un lieu de concert légendaire. La représentation des Who ici, le 14 février 1970, fut enregistrée et publiée sous le nom de Live at Leeds, le live album le plus célébré de sa génération. »

  • you lucky dog. :)

  • i saw the who in the late 70's but Live at Leeds is by far my favorite recording of theirs. I only listen to: Young Man Blues, Fortune Teller, Shakin' All Over, Summertime Blues, My generation, and Magic Bus. when it comes to loud, classic power trio rock and roll, provided by a band and era that was unforgettable, this is the straight dope. when death comes to tap me on the shoulder, i'm gonna throw on "Young Man Blues", crank it to "11" courtesy of nigel, and tell death: "EAT THIS!!!"

  • thanks for that!

  • Awesome video. i could barely ever dream to see them live at such an amazing event.

  • greates live gig in rock history

  • You rule, Oz!
