This educational video, featuring Singapore's founding father Minister Mentor (MM) Lee Kuan Yew, is produce to complement Singapore Ministry of Education's Civics and Moral Education (CME) and National Education (NE). I urge all Singapore teachers in all Singapore primary schools, secondary schools (including the Independent Schools (IS) and those in the Integrated Programme (IP)), junior colleges (JC) and the polytechnics, to send all their Singaporean pupils to watch this video. It is especially recommended for viewing after the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), or the two Semestral Assessments (SA1 and SA2), or the two Continual Assessments (CA1 and CA2), where there are ample time for some Civics and Moral Education (CME). The importance of National Education (NE) cannot be overemphasized, as the Ministry of Education (MOE) has emphasized many times. Students of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Management University (SMU) should also go view this educational video, especially if they are under various MOE or Public Service Comission (PSC) scholarships or the edusave scheme.
Foreign Talents (FT) and other not-so-talented foreigners working at Fusionpolis, Biopolis and the other "polis" of various A*STAR organisations may be interested to infuse themselves with some local history too.

i can tell u an interesting story. in the 1980s, LKY was having a speech at HKU, and Hk students challenged him about democracy and human rights. lee was like, dare you go to beijing, to zhongnanhai, and challenge it to communist leaders? if not, why challenge me? and these cowards all shut up, haha

Lee is a sly old fox (老狐狸一只！） and is very good at deflecting attacks. The HK students were correctly challenging him about the democracy and human rights situation IN SINGAPORE, but the sly fox deflected the situtation by telling them to go challenge CHINA.
That's not answering the question about SINGPAORE at all. Why you want to learn from him to become a sly old fox? lol

the fact of the matter is: you know nothing about this country called singapore, on the other side of the globe! Eg. You do not know the diff bet our CPF (which is drained to pay for grossly inflated public housing) and your CCP (which has no such "drainage"). So u should stop embarrassing yourself defending a dictatorship u dont even know.
Btw, pls go learn something about governance. Citizens need not be indebted to govt - it is govt that must not be ingrate to citizens, u fool!

When you emigrate over to Sg, you will become a CITIZEN. Your stats about "no. 1 destination for EXPAT" will no longer be relevant to you. I challenge you to walk the walk and give up your canadian passport for a singapore one (sg does not allow dual citizenship). Let's see if you will enjoy our super high tax (disguised as inflated public housing price) and zero unemployment /disability benefits and no public health ins. Dare you take the challenge or are you gd only at talking?

Yes, Singapore is the top country to live FOR EXPAT. But it is a miserable country to live for CITIZENS, because it does not take care of old, sick, or disabled CITIZENS, but only rich EXPAT. Normal people would consider such a govt lousy, because it has failed to take care of its CITIZENS. But you judge a govt by how it takes care of EXPAT! Is this how you judge your Canadian govt - not by how well it treats canadians, but by how it treats americans expat? Pls talk some sense!

The average Singaporean is below poverty line, by Canada's federal poverty guideline, and Singapore has the highest GINI coefficient among 1st world country. HK has way LESS poor people, because it has unemployment benefits and its pension fund was not eaten up by inflated public housing price! GST proposal has just been struck down. All these are possible due to democracy.

human rights? and democracy? in Canada human rights only puts tax payers money into feeding and educating criminals who get paroles in less than 7 years for rape and murder. And democracy? lets corporations gets rich and and the poor suffer. Just look at the economic decline. USA hasn't recovered due to democracy.

In Canada, human rights allow freedom of speech, media and assembly, such that opposing political views can be aired without fear of punishment, corrupted politicians can be exposed. Democracy allows the govt can be replaced peacefully in fair elections. All gd for the coutnry. But little kid like you can only see short-sighted views abt criminals getting paroles! USA hasn't recovered from financial management! Nothing to do with democracy. Little kids should stay in their frog well.

Goodness. Intelligence seems lacking here. I studied in England for a stint, and the unemployment rate there is higher, more suicides, ... Wendy has failed to provide a suitable comparison. In addition, Singapore is able to offer ministers higher pay due to particular advantages and geopolitical situations that are not replicable. For instance, most Asian states including S'pore are developmental states. The US is not; France is not. In addition, she fails to check PPP. Not convincing.

Ethics is lacking in Seahyukit! Singapore has higher unemployement rate than England and more importantly, Sg has no unemployment benefits! Sg has 1 suicide/day, 1 elderly suicide/week, 1 teenage suicide/month! All these are objective open stats. YOU have LIED.
Yes, Singapore is a "developmental state", while US and France are already developed country. That's why our ministers are not fit to have a salary 5 times that of those developed countries! Pls have some logic.
