The Australian Army lead by the legendary innovator LTG John Monash spearheaded the Allied offensive that won WW1.
Not the Americans.
Certainly not the USMC.
The Australians.
Once we understand where WW1 war-winning credit is due, we are not done yet.
The Australians, in order to win did things we are not even doing today. Like tracked cross-country, mobility and resupply:

And Close Air Support (CAS) by fixed-wing, long-loiter time observation/attack planes:

So much for our boasts of "high technology".
We are BS.
The Australians of WW1 would do a far better job today in Iraq/Afghanistan WITH WW1 EQUIPMENT than we are doing today with our myriad stupidity.
I like the Turkish FNSS M113 based resuply armored vehicle, it can carry quite a load, has a crane that can be operated from within the vehicle, and has folding sidewalls that make it indistinguishable from other ACVs, as well as a .50 HMG for selfprotection
