Legends and Lore of Illinois Presents: Cuba Road

Cuba Road, located between Lake Zurich and Barrington north of Chicago, is rumored to be haunted by a plethora of ghosts. There are the famous orbs of White Cemetery, a vanishing house, wandering ghosts, a killer car, and even an (supposedly) abandoned asylum off of a side street. In this clip, Michael Kleen, author of the Legends and Lore of Illinois, discusses the origins of these stories.

lake zurich police have nothing better to do so when people go down cuba road "after hours" to go "ghost hunting" they get nailed for"trespassing" i cant tell you how many donut eaters i've had to ditch. when i go there to try and find the "phantom car" all i find is a cop car

i went there 1 am today and there was only a deer and raccoon and a cat, we had to stop and let someone go pee in a bush, that was the scariest part! oh and we went down a second time and there was a whole Mexican family just walking down the road right next to the cemetery. It wasn't that scary though...

I'm 33yo and about 2 years ago my GF at the time wanted to go to Cuba Rd. She said she was seeing stuff left and right, but not me. One thing that did happen very clearly was the truck that chases people down. I didn't even hear it pull up behind us but I swear it barreled down right on my bumper as we sped away. About 15sec of it on my tail and the truck's lights went out and was gone. Ghost or some guys in a truck that get a kick out of scaring people, I'm not sure which.

This vid is absolutely interesting and the fotos of cuba road is very eerie even in the daytime. keep doing these vids illinoisghosts LOVE them. anything 2 do with the paranormal is very dear 2 my heart

@southampton2NYC dude too true LOL i have been trying to get onto cuba road to find the phantom car forever but there are always the stupid ass cops. BTW do u know any other places that are supposedly haunted in Illinois?

@cronicjointpain I wish i did and that he did too. He only told me what happend since i wasnt even born at the time xD.  He said he did take a photo of the so called phantom house without knowing it would disappear. Oddly enough the film would never develop on that picture while all the other ones would. It really messed with him because he wasnt even aware that the area was known to be haunted, he found out about it 10 years later.

@cronicjointpain Other than the photos and descriptions of feelings, i have no other direct proof of stuff happening here, i wish i did have more however. With me, i never really call out to any spirits to show themselves since it can irritated something you cannot control and plus ive done the same and it hasnt worked. The whole being in a neutral mind thing has def worked alot more for me, since sprits can sense your intentions. Its better to come in wanting a visit rather than a show lol.

@cronicjointpain Haha i get ya lol. But I cant really post the photos because i captured them using a film camera and dont have them in files on my computer, but i am not bullshitting you by any means lol. I would honestly recommend just taking another trip out there but spend a good couple hours inside the yard with a neutral mind, especially around dark and maybe just come back more than once. If nothing happens to you then, then you have every right to think that its not haunted.

@rockprogmetal show themselves when they are challenged! in my opinion assuming things about someone based upon a few short comments is stupid! some people can sense these things and others can't and i'm not one of them? ok cause that has been proven as a fact LOL whatever dude you completely misjudged me all i'm trying to do is look for some fucking proof and all of a sudden you think i'm a typical skeptic wow!
