usualy its not a very good idea to load a gun just 4 fun. if you are not gonna shoot, then simply DONT load it.

AND RACK THE SLIDE A FEW TIMES! Screw doing it once and looking, do it a few times then look, people make mistakes, especially with their eyes, if you rack it a few times and nothing is flying out it's a good sign, but be extra safe and take a little look

@sasquatchhunter86 .22lr works just fine for self defense if you have an accurate gun like the Ruger Mark II in this video. It's all about shot placement, and you get that with the Ruger, and never jams either, it will shoot cheap .22lr all day long.
However, I agree that packing a little more is better, which is why I use my Ruger Mark III for plinking, but a S&W .38 Special as my concealed weapon., with hollowpoints.

when i use the release lever, the clip doesn't voluntarily come out. i found its best to turn the gun upside down with the hand i was using to fire it, and take the clip out with my left hand. this gun is a target plinker and god forbid i have to reload it during a home invasion.
