considering the PC Engine CPU is only 8-bit, I would say PC Engine FTW :-p

Both the Mega Drive and PC Engine have awesome exclusive shooters. MD has the Thunder Force series, Fire Shark, Gaiares, MUSHA. PCE has the Star Soldier series, Gate of Thunder, Lords of Thunder. Don't be a fanboy. It is not 1990.

@SupermansBoots pc engine: 4 times as many colors, about the same processing speed :] and the megadrive only supports 64 sprites at 320 resolution, but 80 at 256. they're very closely matched machines :]

for sure, as good as the genny shooters are the TG-16's are that much better...
