Slow Boat From Sark to Guernsey

This is dedicated to all those stuck on the M5,M25 and all the congested roads of the world!
I live on the small but beautiful island of Guernsey and was fortunate to be working on the even smaller and more beautiful island of Sark in the first week of June.
The only way to get there is boat, as there wasn't anything else to do while stuck 'in traffic' I recorded the trip on my phone-cam (Nokia N73)
The reason we travel by tractor trailer and boat is that other forms of motorised transport are out-lawed in Sark.
On the return from Sark we pass to the north of the island of Brecqhou and to the south of Herm and Jethou and approach Guernsey as 2 fast ferries are passing in the Russel.

Thank you for posting this!! My heart aches for Sark! This video only makes it more painful, mainly because it reminds me of how far away my "Brigadoon" is!

My last trip from Sark to Guernsey was in a treacherous storm and a rolling sea - yet it still is a beautiful memory.

Go there for a trip its great. Try living on a small island when you have experienced the outside world (Eng) for only a mere 15yrs.... Not so fun. So every time you go shopping on a Sunday, visit a mall, fast food outlet, get a choice of service providers for BBand etc etc think of us with the mere actual speed of 236kbps downstream and a whooping 36kbps up stream!! Yes upstream in slower than DIAL UP!!

Good grief! I knew things were a bit slower in Sark but. . . . . .

Still, some things you have better, I'd be quite happy for Guernsey to go car free and the Mrs always gets Sark eggs and meat when she can. Fantastic!

and i have been to Guernsey lots and lots of times. I have also seen the uphill race in Guernsey. my house is called home farm which is opposite stocks hotel

my family has a house in sark think the best bit of the sark is going down to grand greve the most awesome beach in the world

I've only ever been to Sark twice in my life... I just never find the time to go there, great place though.. Better then Guernsey anyway xD

Nah, not Sark... I live by the little chapel in St Andrews. Still I think that there are good points to living in a small community. Everyone is very friendly
